Izzy is now GCH CH Hanlon Isabella Bird RATN and was the beautiful beginning of Vorberg Standard Schnauzers. We are located in the foothills ("vorberg" is German for foothill) of the California Sierra Nevadas. Izzy came to my husband, Jason, and I from breeder Kimberly Studley of Hanlon Standard Schnauzers. Since she came home to us in January, 2016, Izzy has brought us nothing but love and joy. She believes that every dog should be her friend and everyone who comes near her should pet her. Her silly, sweet personality brings a smile to everyone who meets her.
I started showing Izzy at six months old ... and she started off with a bang by winning her first point at 6 months and two days old. At 1 ½ years old she completed her Championship run by winning Best of Breed. She has earned over 17 BOB Owner-Handled ribbons. Izzy came back from mommyhood to complete her Grand Champion Title at 3 1/2 years old. Izzy will continue to work on her Barn Hunt and other Scent Work titles.
The goal of Vorberg Standard Schnauzers is to produce healthy offspring with outstanding temperaments and sound structure. I am currently the President of the Standard Schnauzer Club of Northern California and have been on the Board for several years. In my time with SSCNC I have learned to groom, train, and show my own dog and now am always willing to help those with their new SS. I believe in passing on the knowledge I have learned from my breeder, fellow SSCNC members, professional handlers, literature, classes, and seminars. We have a wonderful breed where continuing to produce healthy, structurally correct, good temperament show and pet dogs is of utmost importance.
As you are deciding to bring a bearded-buddy home, I ask that you read "Mother Knows Best" by Carol Lea Benjamin. If you follow the advice in the book, even though it can be a challenge at times, you and your puppy will have a happy, successful partnership!
